This is an odd name (DO DARYA = Two Rivers) for this place as there are no rivers here and there is just one SEA (the Arabian Sea) in two sides of this place.
There is an other version , “ The word 'Darya' has the same meaning in Persian (Farsi) language as 'Samandar' in Urdu. So 'Do Darya' means 'Two Seas' in Persian., because there is sea on two sides of this location”.

پاکستان کے سب سے بڑے شہر اور تجارتی مرکز کراچی میں واقع دو دریا چند سال قبل صرف سیر و تفریح کے حوالے سے مقبول تھا اور یہاں ہر شام بہت سے لوگ صرف تازہ ہوا میں سانس لینے آتے تھے یا پھر بعض اپنا ماہی گیری کا شوق پورا کرنے کے لیے آتے تھے- لیکن گزشتہ تین سال کے عرصے میں قائم کیے جانے والے بےشمار عالیشان ریسٹورنٹس کی وجہ سے اب اس مقام کو پاکستان کے بہترین ریسٹورنٹس کے حوالے سے بھی جانا جاتا ہے جہاں عوام کی ایک بڑی تعداد مزیدار کھانوں سے لطف اندوز ہونے آتی ہے- دلچسپ بات یہ ہے کہ یہ تمام ریسٹورنٹ سمندر کے کنارے پر بنائے گئے ہیں جہاں لوگ کھانے کے ساتھ ساتھ سمندر کے خوبصورت اور حسین نظاروں سے بھی لطف اندوز ہوتے ہیں اور یہی ان ریسٹورنٹس کی خاصیت بھی ہے-
Do Darya is very well known dining spot these days, this spot is famous for last many years, . Many people visit this place for smooth breeze in the evening, many who have interest in fishing also use to go there for fulfill their fishing hobby and also enjoy delicious food with a beautiful sea view. Its probably the only food street of it’s kind in Pakistan.
It is located along the sea, Seaview road past McDonald’s, the Village Restaurant. . Visitors will be greeted by many restaurants clustering at the edge of the Sea.
Many restaurants have their first outlet in other part of city, and specially the concept of highway dining started on super highway, in Mid 90’s, by very well know restaurant Al-Habib, and later many other open their outlets there, almost all the restaurants have their outlet in this belt. And many new name as well. Here are just few names:
