As for your question… No, it is not forbidden
Islam has very clear guidelines and this religion wants us to live our best lives, use our talents and strengths in the most positive productive manner possible and not waste any time since each moment is precious
Islam also allows for positive entertainment and relaxation Allah loves His beings and so He does not like undue hardship or people forbidding things when He has not forbidden them.
The question here is… is your game clear of all immorality? Does it glorify negative behavior in any way? If not, enjoy it!
The next question is… Are you fulfilling what is required of you or is your gaming an impediment in your duties? Duties to Allah being the minimum of 5 prayers , reciting and contemplating the Quran, remembering Allah, doing good, being a good son/brother/father/husband/neighbor etc ?
If you are keeping a good balance and fulfilling your roles, you should not feel there's anything wrong with enjoying some gaming time
As for does Allah reward you for avoiding Haram… Yes, absolutely and without a doubt!!
That's my honest opinion in light of what I know of Islam and Allah knows best. (written by anonymous)
